Investigation of Non-Linear Ship Hydroelasticity by CFD-FEM Coupling Method

چکیده

With the increase of ship size, stiffness hull structure becomes smaller. This means that frequency wave excitation tends to be closer natural vibration, which in turn makes hydroelastic responses more significant. An accurate assessment loads and motion hulls is key design safety assessment. In this paper, coupled CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)-FEM (Finite Element Method) method used investigate non-linear hydroelasticity effect a 6750-TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) container ship. First, by comparing heave, pitch, vertical bending moment at midship section (VBM4) against experimental results reported literature, validity numerical paper illustrated. Secondly, under different length–ship length ratio, frequency-structure frequency, steepness, speeds are studied. It found ratio has important influence on response than from non-linearity will behave differently ratio. The rigid body caused forward speed not correspondingly response.

Coupling of Non - Conform Fem and Bem

This paper is concerned with the coupling of non-conform nite element and boundary element methods in continuation of Part I (C. Carstensen, S.A. Funken: Coupling of non-conform nite elements and boundary elements I: a priori estimates), where we recast the interface model problem, introduced a coupling scheme and proved a priori error estimates. In this paper, we establish sharp a posteriori e...

ICCAS 2007, Portsmouth EFFICIENT GENERATION OF CFD-BASED LOADS FOR THE FEM-ANALYSIS OF SHIP STRUCTURES

This paper describes the technology for coupling CFD and FEM computations and for selecting the appropriate design waves. One core component for linking CFD and FEM is a repository for the ship hydrodynamic results (SHR). Another important component is an algorithm which maps CFD pressures to FEM nodal loads where CFD and FEM meshes need not coincide. Both the exchange file and the mapping algo...

Fully Non-linear Cfd Techniques for Ship Performance Analysis and Design

Non-oscillatory discretization methods based on the Local Extremum Diminishing principle, which were originally devised for compressible flow, are applied to the free-surface evolution equation. More specifically, both symmetric and upstream limited schemes are utilized in the calculation of the flow about the Series 60 hull, a naval frigate hull with sonar dome and transom stern, and a fully c...
